Breast cancer is scary and confusing, both for those diagnosed and for family and friends. It’s important to have a strong support network to help with the physical and emotional demands of this disease. Remember, you are not alone – please do not hesitate to contact Komen Upstate NY at 844-240-0339 to talk with someone who can help.
There are many support services available to assist you on this journey, including:
- A directory of services by county, found by visiting http://www.health.ny.gov/diseases/cancer/services/partnerships/.
- Komen’s free breast care helpline, which can be reached by calling 1-877 GO KOMEN, or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Through this helpline, you can receive professional support services for anyone with breast health and breast cancer concerns, including breast cancer patients and their families.
- Information regarding participating in or learning more about Breast Cancer Clinical Trails visit BreastCancerTrials.org or ClinicalTrials.gov.
- Help for family and friend, by visiting the Co-Survivor section of Komen’s national website, where you can share tips and advice, and read personal stories from others who have been in similar situations.
Because of your generous donations, our affiliate is able to fund many breast-health and breast cancer-related programs throughout the Upstate region. Through your gifts, you help to advance breast cancer detection, support and educational awareness initiatives across Central New York, Northeastern New York, the Twin Tiers Region, and Western New York. And by working together, we push for education, diagnosis, treatment, and support programs that serve uninsured or underinsured residents.
