BUFFALO, N.Y. – March 12, 2020 – Susan G. Komen® and Susan G. Komen® Upstate New York takes the health and safety of our supporters very seriously. As such, we are closely monitoring the news of the novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) and the current state of cases found across the U.S, as well as local activity within the 49 counties we serve across the Upstate region.
Our Affiliates is following the guidance of and consulting with local health authorities as needed. Decisions regarding events planned during this spring season will be based on local conditions and the best interest of our supporters.
While our best hope is our that spring events will be unaffected, some may be postponed or cancelled in the best interest of the health and wellness of our communities. We are also investigating options, where possible and appropriate, to enable supporters to participate virtually, such as a virtual Race/Walk participation and conducting programing via live-stream.
